After SAMOHI I went to UCI and got a BS in BS (Biological Sciences), then went to USC and got my doctor of pharmacy degree, then residency, marriage, baby, etc...
I now work for Cedars-Sinai as a clinical pharmacist. I live in West LA with my husband and my 2 year old son.

After high school, I went to Stanford, got two degrees in Human-Computer Interaction, and then graduated and travelled to China to teach English for a year. Deciding I needed to do something more relevant to my career, I eventually landed in Albuqueruqe with a job as a Usability Engineer at Sandia National Laboratories. Two and a half years later, I'm starting a new job in the LA area (as of November 1). In the next few months, I'll be settling back into life in LA and scoping out the changes since I left 9 years ago! |

I've been busy! After high school I spent one year as a full-time bank teller. Then, I enrolled at SMC where I met amazing people. After two years, I transfered to UCLA where I received a BA in Sociology and Women's Studies. What can I say, the past ten years have been a journey. I finished my Film Production Degree in 2002 from Cal State Long Beach. I spent a few years working in the industry, only to realize at the end of the day all I was doing with my time was making pictures. So I did the "On The Road" thing and traveled for a while with a few fiends, finish a novel and ended up where the land meets the sea- in San Francisco. After putting roots in the bay area, I began to work on my Masters in Journalism at UC Berkeley. This was around the time of the 2004 election, and I began to see the ugly side of this medium. So like film, I decided I wanted to do more with my life then push other people's words around the page all day. After removing myself from the program, I was searching for meaning in a career- a way to make a difference everyday. In a strange series of events, I concluded a year of physical, mental, and security clearance testing to be accepted as a police officer trainee in one of the most dangerous cities in the US- Oakland. The training was rigorous, the work was dangerous and when I saw that all the sergeant's were emotionally empty and broken, I decided to move on.
I finally decided to pursue my passion- wine. I am currently working on my MBA at UC Davis, concentrating in wine business. In the mean time, I am also meeting my "making a difference" factor at the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society as a Manager. I spend my days saving animals from local shelters, conducting psychological reviews and making sure that these animals find a great home. My wife- who is truly wonderful, and who has seen me though all of this- has also decided to leave Children's Hospital as a R.N. to pursue her Degree from UC Davis in Wine Making.
Who knows what life will bring, but in the end life is not about the destination, it is really about the journey. Stay safe class of 96 while "on the road". |
